๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐: On August 21st, 2026, His Excellency Mr. Mikhail Korneev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, presented copies of his Letters of Credence to the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Hon. Sering Modou Njie.
Minister Njie warmly welcomed Ambassador Korneev and congratulated him on his new appointment. He conveyed The Gambiaโs appreciation for the longstanding relations with the Russian Federation and expressed gratitude for the establishment of a resident Embassy in Banjul, which marks a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation.
Discussions during the meeting focused on possible areas of collaboration, including education, agriculture, Peace and Security. The Minister assured Ambassador Korneev of the Ministryโs full support in the discharge of his duties and conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Adama Barrow to the Russian Embassy and to the President of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Vladimir Putin.
The engagement underscored the shared commitment of The Gambia and the Russian Federation to deepen cooperation across key sectors and to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
