๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐: The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, H.E Sering Modou Njie, on August 21st 2026 received His Excellency Mr. Oba Fahrir Turker, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Tรผrkiye to The Gambia, who paid a farewell visit at the Ministryโs headquarters in Banjul.
Hon. Minister Njie warmly welcomed Ambassador Turker and conveyed the Governmentโs profound gratitude to the Republic of Tรผrkiye for its steadfast support to The Gambia. He noted that Tรผrkiye has been a genuine and reliable partner, contributing significantly to the strengthening of bilateral relations. The Minister commended Ambassador Turker for his dedication and commitment throughout his tenure, and expressed appreciation for his role in advancing cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Njie further extended fraternal greetings to the President of the Republic of Tรผrkiye on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Adama Barrow, and the Government and people of The Gambia. The Hon. Minister highlighted the great contributions Tรผrkiye made to The Gambiaโs development over the years in key areas of collaboration such as trade, defence and security, education , health sector, and other areas of mutual interest. He assured that the partnership between the two countries will continue to flourish, and further wished Ambassador Turker success in his future endeavors.
Hon. Minister Njie concluded by paying special gratitude to Ambassador Turker for the great contribution he made to strengthen and deepen the Gambia-Tรผrkiye relations during his tour of duty in the Gambia.
Ambassador Turker, in response, expressed sincere gratitude to the Minister, the Ministry, and the Government of The Gambia for the support extended to him during his tenure. He described The Gambia as a peaceful country and commended the Ministry for its cooperation. Ambassador Turker assured that the Republic of Tรผrkiye remains committed to deepening and expanding the longstanding friendship and cooperation with The Gambia.
