The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, His Excellency Dr. Mamadou Tangara on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly attended the 4th Ministerial Meeting on the African Atlantic States Process (AASP) on September 24th, 2024. He was accompanied by Her Excellency, Dr. Fatou Bensouda, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Her Excellency, Jainaba Jagne, Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Ethiopia and the African Union.

With a mission to develop cooperative initiatives and actions and contribute to the development of an Atlantic community of interests, the AASP aims to promote integration, stability and prosperity in the region.

The session was chaired by His Excellency, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of The Kingdom of Morocco. The main outcomes of this meeting were the Joint Declaration by African Atlantic States Process and Atlantic Center and the New York Declaration II.
