Sering Modou Njie, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Hon. Ronald Lamola, on Friday, 22 August 2025. The two Ministers reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of friendship and solidarity between The Gambia and South Africa, rooted in the shared values of African unity, mutual respect, and cooperation. Both sides welcomed the opportunity to further strengthen their bilateral partnership across multiple sectors of mutual interest. The Foreign Minister of The Gambia commended the excellent bilateral relations between the Government of the Republic of The Gambia and the Government of Japan relations firmly anchored on mutual benefit, trust, and shared values. He expressed profound gratitude to the Government of Japan for its support to the fisheries sector, provision of safe drinking water, scholarships, and assistance to the agriculture sector. The Honourable Minister further reaffirmed the Government of The Gambiaโ€™s readiness to deepen and broaden bilateral cooperation with Japan to cover other priority areas. FM Tangara Receives Credentials of Qatari Ambassador

His Excellency Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, received Copies of Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Muhammad Ali Salim Ali Al-Kawari. In receiving the credentials, Foreign Minister Tangara warmly welcomed and congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador and commended Qatar for successfully hosting the World Cup 2022. Fm Tangara acknowledged the previous Ambassador and his teamโ€™s amazing efforts. The Foreign Minister assured Ambassador Al-Kawari of Gambiaโ€™s continuous support. He also assured him of his open-door policy to collaborate and strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two states.
