The equipment comprising of conference microphones, printers, tablets, conference cameras, smart whiteboards, green screens, ERMS scanners, tool kits, a teleprompter, laptops, desktops, an advanced projector, sound systems, and large-format Canon printers, among other essential equipment, which was officially handed over by Mr. Zhao Shangsen, Deputy Head of Mission , and received by the Permanent Secretary II of the Ministry, Ms. Fatou Kinneh Jobe. In her address, Permanent Secretary Jobe expressed profound appreciation to the Government and People of the Peopleโ€™s Republic of China for the generous and timely contribution. She underscored that the equipment will significantly strengthen the Ministryโ€™s Communication Unit, enhance public diplomacy, and improve the management and dissemination of information at both national and international levels. She further emphasized that the support reflects the excellent bilateral relations between The Gambia and the Peopleโ€™s Republic of China and aligns with the Ministryโ€™s ongoing efforts to modernize its communication systems and strengthen institutional capacity. The Government of The Gambia expresses profound shock and deep concern over this attempt to overturn the will of the people. The Gambia considers this action a blatant violation of shared democratic principles and an unfortunate setback to the hard-earned progress made by the government and people of Guinea Bissau and the ECOWAS region in democracy and constitutional rule. Excellencies, Our two continents continue to face complex and interconnected challenges rising conflict dynamics, governance stresses, climate shocks, and socio-economic pressures that particularly affect our youth. These realities require an integrated approach that recognizes the inseparable link between peace, security, and good governance. For The Gambia, this theme reflects our own national journey of the past eight years a journey of democratic consolidation, institutional rebuilding, and renewed public confidence. As a country that has undergone a democratic transition, we appreciate the delicate nature of reforms and the partnerships required to sustain them. We continue to prioritize: Deepening democratic reforms and institutional strengthening; Advancing transitionalย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  justiceย ย  andย ย ย ย ย ย ย  nationalย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  reconciliation; Accelerating security sector reform; Enhancing border management and early warning systems; And investing in youth empowerment and resilience. Stability in this region is vital for The Gambia. We encourage constructive engagement, inclusive dialogue, and collective approaches that help restore trust and reinforce regional mechanisms. Excellencies, Security responses must go hand in hand with socio-economic investments. We see great value in AUโ€“EU cooperation on youth employment, climate adaptation, local governance strengthening, and support for womenโ€™s leadership in peacebuilding. Ms. Fatou Kinneh Jobe, Permanent Secretary II of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, led the Gambian delegation, alongside other senior government officials. In her remarks, PS Jobe commended the OIC General Secretariat and Member States for developing an ambitious and comprehensive plan for the next 10 years. โ€œThe Draft Programme of Action embodies our collective hopes for peace, justice, prosperity, and solidarity throughout the Muslim Ummah,โ€ stated PS Jobe. โ€œIt covers key issues including Palestine, peace and security, efforts to combat Islamophobia, human rights, socio-economic development, and institutional reform.โ€ The Permanent Secretary also welcomed the POAโ€™s focus on poverty reduction, trade, health, education, youth and womenโ€™s empowerment, and climate resilience, noting that these are crucial for a stable and prosperous Ummah. The visit marked his first official engagement since his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The visit follows a meeting between H.E. Cheikh Niang and The Gambiaโ€™s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, H.E. Sering Modou Njie, held on the margins of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, during which both Ministers agreed to undertake this visit to further strengthen the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two sister countries. During the visit, the two Foreign Ministers held a bilateral meeting focused on promoting and enhancing cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest. They also discussed the implementation of the outcomes of the Third Senegalo-Gambia Presidential Council Meeting held in Banjul, aimed at deepening collaboration and supporting joint initiatives between The Gambia and Senegal. Following the bilateral talks, the two Ministers held a joint press briefing to inform the public about the outcomes of their discussions. H.E.
