๐๐๐๐๐๐, 31st ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ 2026: Hon. Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, on August 21st, 2026, received Dr. Simeon Konan Koffi, Director of ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority, who was overseeing the ECOWAS Mission in The Gambia, on a farewell visit to the Ministry.
During the visit, Minister Njie welcomed Dr. Koffi and his delegation, expressing gratitude for his leadership and service throughout his tenure. He highlighted the vital role ECOWAS played during The Gambiaโs 2016 political impasse, noting its continued contribution to peace and security in the region.
Minister Njie further thanked Dr. Koffi for his dedication while overseeing the ECOWAS Mission. Hon Njie also seized the opportunity to express the Government’s gratitude to the President of the ECOWAS Commission His Excellency Dr. Omar A. Touray and Ambassador Miatta Lily French (Outgone ECOWAS Representative) for their invaluable contributions to the development, peace and stability of The Gambia.
In his remarks, Dr. Koffi extended appreciation to the Government of The Gambia for the support provided to the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority and the ECOWAS Commission.. He assured the Minister that ECOWAS will remain a steadfast partner, particularly during upcoming electoral period to help preserve the peace and democratic order for which The Gambia is widely recognized.
