๐๐€๐๐‰๐”๐‹, ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”๐ญ๐ก ๐ƒ๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“: The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia, Hon. Sering Modou Njie paid a courtesy visit to his counterpart, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, at his office in Abuja. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Summit.

The visit provided an opportunity for both Ministers to reaffirm the longstanding cordial and brotherly relations between The Gambia and Nigeria, and to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Hon. Njie expressed profound appreciation to the Government and people of Nigeria for their continued technical assistance and capacity-building support, particularly in the areas of defence and security, health, education, and the judiciary. He underscored the important role Nigeria has played in supporting The Gambiaโ€™s development efforts and institutional strengthening over the years.

Both Ministers reiterated their shared commitment to further deepening and consolidating bilateral relations, guided by mutual respect, solidarity, and shared regional and international priorities.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries and a mutual resolve to continue working closely for the benefit of their peoples and the wider ECOWAS region.
