๐๐€๐๐‰๐”๐‹, ๐Ÿ“๐ญ๐ก ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad is pleased to announce that His Excellency Mr. Pa Musa Jobarteh, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Georgia, His Excellency Mr. Mikheil Kavelashvili, on Friday, 22nd May 2026, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi.

Presenting his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of The Gambia to Georgia, H.E. Ambassador Jobarteh conveyed fraternal greetings and best wishes from His Excellency President Adama Barrow to the President, Government, and people of Georgia. He reaffirmed The Gambiaโ€™s commitment to strengthening the cordial relations that exist between the two countries and expressed his readiness to work closely with the Georgian authorities to deepen bilateral cooperation.

During a subsequent meeting, Ambassador Jobarteh and President Kavelashvili discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in science and technology, agriculture, tourism, and economic development. Both sides underscored the importance of exploring new avenues for trade and investment and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

In a similar development, H.E. Ambassador Jobarteh presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Moldova, Her Excellency Ms. Maia Sandu, on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau.

As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of The Gambia to the Republic of Moldova, Ambassador Jobarteh conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency President Adama Barrow to President Sandu, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Moldova. He reiterated his commitment to fostering closer relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

During their discussions, Ambassador Jobarteh and President Sandu identified several areas of common interest and potential collaboration, including agriculture, trade, investment promotion, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. They also exchanged views on multilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of supporting each otherโ€™s candidatures in international organizations and reaffirming the relevance of multilateralism in advancing the interests of small states. Both sides further underscored the importance of international peace and security and expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

The presentation of Letters of Credence to the Presidents of Georgia and the Republic of Moldova marks an important step in The Gambiaโ€™s ongoing efforts to broaden its diplomatic engagement and deepen bilateral relations with countries across Europe and beyond.
