SWEDISH PARLIAMENTARIANS ARRIVE ON FACT-FINDING VISIT

Two Swedish Parliamentarians from the Committee of Foreign Affairs (CFA), Friday 16 February 2018 arrived in Banjul in a bid to scout out ways of contributing to The Gambia’s development through Swedish Donor Agency (SIDA).

The delegation is expected to meet the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ousainu Darboe, next week among other government officials and members of the Civil Society and politicians.

THE GAMBIA SUBMITS FORMAL APPLICATION TO RE-JOIN THE COMMONWEALTH

To mark the final step of The Gambia’s bid to re-enter the Commonwealth, Ambassador Francis Blain has presented Secretary-General Patricia Scotland with The Gambia's formal application.

The presentation took place during a meeting at Marlborough House 22 January. The Deputy Ambassador of The Gambia to the UK, Kalifa Bojang was also present.

The Vice President and Minister of Women's Affairs of the Republic of The Gambia, Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang, Thursday 25 January presided over the opening ceremony of Belgian Trade and Investment Mission forum at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, Kololi.

The forum which was initiated and facilitated by the Gambian Embassy in Brussels was attended by 48 Belgian companies plus public and private sector representatives in The Gambia.
