Honourable A.N.M Ousainu Darboe is the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad (MoFA). He was born on 8
August 1948.  He attended Bansang Primary School before proceeding to
Saint Augustine's High School and then Gambia High School. Darboe was
the recipient of a Commonwealth scholarship to study law at the
University of Lagos in Nigeria. He later proceeded with his master's
degree in law from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is the first
Gambian called to the Federal Bar of Nigeria in 1973 and returned to
The Gambia in May 1973 to serve as state prosecutor.

 He's a human rights lawyer and politician who founded the main
opposition party, United Democratic Party (UDP), in 1996. The UDP was
the main opposition party under the rule of former President Yahya
