The American and Caribbean Affairs Division covers all countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. The Division monitors political, economic, social and strategic developments in the Americas with a view to assessing their implications for bilateral, regional and international relations. The Division also facilitates and coordinates meetings between American and Caribbean Diplomatic missions and government Ministries and departments. Our Diplomatic Missions in America and the Caribbean spearhead Gambia’s engagement and re-engagement efforts to enhance economic cooperation.
The Gambia’s Permanent Mission in New York coordinates Gambia’s participation in regional and international fora such as the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council in New York, and other specialised agencies, namely, UNICEF, UNDP etc;
